Spring in the Kampinos Forest

The Kampinos Forest is pine forests, picturesque marshes, alder swamps and flowery meadows, which long, long ago grew up in the place where the Vistula once flowed along its right, pre-valley. This is a large national park at the very western gateway to the country’s capital – a thing unparalleled anywhere else in Europe. Despite its proximity to Warsaw, the Kampinos are not visited in large numbers, and it is easy to find wild fragments that look like from the times when Jagiello’s armies hurried through the primeval forest to Grunwald….
